(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)NoJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Director, Clinical Service Contract Negotiations, the Manager, Medical Staff Priority Contracts and Projects will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing management and support of the relationship between Island Health and Medical Staff providing services under Priority Clinical Service contracts. The role will act as Island Health's primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all aspects of Medical Staff Priority Contracts. This will include collaboration with internal and external partners to provide a comprehensive and integrated approach to clinical quality and contractual governance, administration and oversight. Additionally, working collaboratively with Island Health programs, sites, consultants and other stakeholders, the Manager leads planning and works with teams to prioritize initiatives, create plans to implement changes and evaluate contract performance.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration with five (5) years of recent related experience working within or directly with a health care system, including several years as a project manager or project coordinator. Knowledge of and experience in working with Project Management and Return on Investment methodologies.Skills And Abilities
  • Demonstrated success as a project/contract manager and the successful completion of one large project within the last three years.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, with solid conflict resolution skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of contract and project management principles and methodologies intermediate to expert-level system implementation skills.
  • Proven ability to track, coordinate and integrate external issues as they affect project plans.
  • Proven ability to write, analyze and edit project plans, proposals, Service Level Agreements, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU's) for accuracy and consistency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with the ability to write or edit high-quality business documents such as project charters, master project plans, risk management plans, communication plans, progress reports and project wrap-up documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capability of providing leadership to a diverse project team and interact comfortably with senior personnel in the organization.
  • Excellent presentation, interviewing, facilitating, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
