- Assist the Design Manager in managing the overall engineering man-hour budgets to agreed deliverable dates.
- Assist the Design Manager in Estimating of engineering changes through the Engineering Change Request (ECR) procedure. Preparation and maintaining the ECR register. With a sound knowledge of the project, assist in document / design review, specifically in terms of scope definition and possible deviation that may lead to trending.
- Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
- Assist in managing calculation registers for all disciplines.
- Assist the Manager of Engineering, Design Manager or Peer reviewer in preparation of project audit documentation.
- Assist the Design Manager in preparation of Internal and client design reviews.
- As an outcome of technical meetings, assist in preparing meeting minutes, actions lists and decision logs. Assist in closing actions as required.
- Assist the Design Manager in co-ordinating and technical interfacing with 3rd party engineering groups such as the geotechnical consultant, mining groups, tailing storage and others.
- Preparation of project technical queries (TQ) to be sent to client or other 3rd parties.
- Co-ordination of engineering design workflow and expediting close outs of internal reviews
- Validate that the disciplines are providing adequate staffing, supervising personnel and managing to the approved budget, scope and schedule for all project design related areas.
- Assist in reporting progress to project controls by auditing engineering gating for earned value reporting.
- Assist in reporting schedule progress against milestones and actuals.
- Monitor execution of the work by the multi-disciplines in accordance with the requirements of the Project Baseline.
- Monitor activities, deliverables, quantities and schedule in support of bulk material tracking for all Project Area facilities.
- Prepare and maintain the scope of Engineering / Drafting deliverables in discrete EWP developed in conjunction with project contracting strategies and design work methods.
- Compile project reporting requirements in accordance with Company and Client standards to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
- Contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
- Ensure a high level of communication is attained within the engineering group.
- Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
- Engineering degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units.
