This is an exciting growth opportunity for someone seeking to broaden their current skills and professional goals in a fast paced, high performing environment.Job Duties:Perform full-cycle accounting activities (include, but not limited to):
- Oversee full cycle accounting for numerous operating companies.
- Manage junior accountant staff workload.
- Responsible for reviewing bi-weekly payroll, track benefit deductions and post related journal entries, compile payroll reports, reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis
- Review bank reconciliations
- Maintain inventory, fixed asset, and capital lease schedules
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with ASPE to ensure completeness and accuracy related to AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany transactions
- Prepare variance analysis on a monthly basis, comparing to prior periods and budget - communicate analysis to management and stakeholders
- Maintain accounting system and electronic accounting records (ensuring support and working papers are saved and accessible for applicable stakeholders)
- Contribute to development and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls
- Address external auditor requests by providing reports, samples, and support for requested transactions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- Strong understanding of ASPE and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
- Experience and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience in a multi-site business would be a considerable asset.
