This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with strong technical skills who thrives in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.While this vacancy is currently at Foster Creek, this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Christina Lake, Foster Creek, or Sunrise, based on business need).Work Environment:Foster Creek & Christina LakeThis is a full-time employee position working a shift of 11 hours and 25 minutes per day, 7 days on 7 days off, starting on Thursdays.Foster Creek and Christina Lake have full-service camp facilitiesDepending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locationsFoster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and EdmontonChristina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, ABSunriseThis is a full-time employee position working a shift of 12 hrs/day and 6 hrs on the first and last day; 8 days on 6 days off; 42 hrs/week; Wednesday start; 2-week cycleSunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position.Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and EdmontonAt the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenitiesWhat you’ll do:Maintain calibration, functionality, and supply levels of lab instruments and consumablesDocument and chart daily Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for all equipmentMaintain accurate records and certificates for reference materials, instruments, standards, and productsEnsure compliance of test methods and reference standards with laboratory requirementsResolve technical and instrument-related issues, ensuring proper follow-up documentationIdentify and report safety, environmental, or production concerns while supporting initiatives to enhance safety and prevent incidents at the Foster Creek facilityDrive enhancements to laboratory procedures and operational efficiencyWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaDiploma in Chemical Technology or Bachelor of Science, in ChemistryMinimum 2 years of laboratory experience with in-depth familiarity of analytical instrumentation such as GC, ICP, Ion Chromatography and wastewater testingExperience with SAGD operations considered an assetWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.
