- Lead the development of 12-month rolling forecasts including development of mine plans, schedules and production forecasts to effectively support operations while meeting corporate strategic objectives.
- Integrate long term infrastructure requirements, construction, and maintenance projects into mid-range mine plan.
- Ensure coordination between long-term objectives and short-range and mid-range mine plans including working closely with other mine sites to achieve the corporate objectives.
- Collaborate closely with long range and short-range planners to ensure compliance to mine plan.
- Contribute to monthly reporting and variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Provide technical support to mine operations, construction and technical services in achieving mid-term and long-term objectives;
- Conduct scenario analyses to identify opportunities for ongoing optimization of mine plan.
- Contribute to the development of long-range (Life of Mine) mine planning, including scheduling and design.
- Provide input to scoping studies, pre-feasibility studies and feasibility studies, including completion of AFE’s and economic justifications for projects
- Provide leadership in resolving conflicts between short-term and long-term operational objectives.
- Mentor and train graduate engineers, mine surveyors, and drill and blast planners as necessary.
- Support senior engineers through active involvement in various site-wide projects.
- BSc in Mining Engineering with a minimum 3-5 year of underground mining experience in roles including ventilation, drill and blast and short to long term scheduling. Previous experience in underground planning role required.
- Excellent knowledge in underground narrow vein mining methods (long-hole preferred);
- Exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment;
- The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe and socially responsible manner;
- A high level of proficiency in Deswik mine planning and scheduling software or related mining software is essential
- Combination of office and field environment.
- Frequent interaction with shop, field, and operations teams.
