Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and variance analysis for the construction division
- Lead and maintain cash forecasting and cash flow planning
- Oversee payroll accounting and government remittances
- Supervise and mentor a team of 4 members.
- Oversee the preparation of annual working papers and liaise with external accountants during year-end
- Review and manage project financials to ensure accuracy and performance tracking
- Identify financial risks, recognize issues, and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate closely with senior management and department leaders to present financial insights and support decision-making
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Construction industry experience is REQUIRED.
- CPA designation is a strong asset, willing to consider candidates with strong relevant experience without CPA
- Experience with Sage 300 is considered an asset
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial results to leadership
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail
