This is a full-time temporary position, with opportunities for extension, reporting to the Crane & Rigging Supervisor.Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)Assisting crane operators in assembly, disassembly and transport of cranes.Must have proven competency to operate the following cranes and equipment in all configurations: Liebherr - LTM-1070 5.1, Tadano ATF 110G, Link-Belt HTC-8660-II, Grove GMK 6300L, TMS9000E, 28T National boom truck, 18T boom truck.Rigging of equipment.Assist mechanic with the maintenance of cranes and general duties in the shop and yard.Delivery of equipment and rigging as needed.Travel within the province as required and requested.Qualifications:3rd year apprentice or Journeyman certificate.Class 1A driver’s license with air brakes is required.Clean driver's abstract is required.Safety courses such as rigging, CSTS considered an asset.The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 987 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 987.IMPORTANT: As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass pre-employment testing that includes a Drug and Alcohol screening.
