
Furnishings Technician - Line Maintenance

- Facilitate repair, inspection, removal, and installation of aircraft interiors and associated components.
- Fabricate items for aircraft ground support and aircraft interior items such as prop ties, cargo nets, and safety equipment in accordance with approved Engineering orders and drawings.
- Record any repair abnormalities and raise Maintenance Irregularity Reports (IR) as per GMP07.
- Coordinate part requirements with Maintenance Crew Chief and Supervisor and Supply Management.
- Investigate repairs required for removed components, utilizing approved data contained in Component Maintenance manuals (CMM), Repair drawings (RD), Engineering orders (EO), and other approved data sources.
- Recommend adjustments to the production process to increase efficiency and reduce rework.
- Ensure work is accomplished to approved data, using appropriate methods and tools for the tasks (Trax).
- Becoming familiar with Transport Canada and Company manuals and documents.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience maintaining and repairing aircraft soft and hard interior equipment as well as appliances is preferred.
- Prior training or experience with industrial sewing machinery.
- Ability to read and follow Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, interpret drawings and fabricate articles from a drawing using materials specified.
- Must have sound mechanical skills.
- Experience in aircraft interiors and furnishings repair.
- Ability to diagnose and perform corrective actions for component faults, using sound troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to convey urgency of project details or timelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and provide direction.
