
Optics Manufacturing Engineering, Co-op

- Lead and participate in assigned projects related to activities within Operations Engineering.
- Work in partnership with the Optics ME frontline team resolving operational technical issues and developing new optics manufacturing processes.
- Sustain operational procedures associated with the evaluation, repair, preventative maintenance, calibration, and acceptance test procedure (ATP) of all Optics ME assets.
- Support translation of product specifications from Engineering to ME and operational procedures.
- Capture and analyze data related to Production and lab procedures.
- Support documentation changes, including optics procedures, in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a Project-based environment.
- Technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be well organized, goal-oriented, and able to give attention to detail.
- Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
- Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience using SolidWorks, Composer, and AutoCAD an asset, but not required.
- Experience using programming languages and image processing software considered an asset (e.g. C#, MATLAB, etc.)
- Experience working with optical assemblies, sensors, electronics, and video processing
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Currently registered into a co-op program of an accredited College or University program, preferably with focus on Physics, Optics, Photonics, or Electro-optics
