
Mining Program Execution Lead

- Lead the coordination and execution of the Mining division’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and operational realities.
- Partner with senior Mining leaders to define strategic priorities and translate them into actionable plans with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
- Establish and manage a governance framework to monitor progress, track KPIs, and proactively address risks and roadblocks.
- Guide and coach project sponsors and managers to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and implement a benefits realization process to evaluate the impact of strategic projects and ensure value delivery.
- Support the execution of the Mining Leadership by aligning resources and timelines with strategic intent.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across departments and regions to ensure consistent execution and communication of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, reports, and updates to executive leadership and external partners, including Caterpillar.
- Identify and escalate critical issues or misalignments that may impact the success of strategic initiatives, offering solutions and mitigation plans.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Finning’s Mining operations, customer expectations, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Mining organization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing insights, recommendations, and support to drive strategic clarity and execution excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- MBA or equivalent is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry, with a focus on strategy, operations, or business transformation.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Experience working directly with senior leadership teams and influencing decision-making at the executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, guiding teams and stakeholders toward shared goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in governance, risk management, and change management practices is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting business needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
- High level of emotional intelligence, collaboration, and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- This position is based out of our Edmonton head office location.
- Permanent, full-time role.
