- Manage month-end close and prepare consolidated financial statements.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy; reconcile accounts and oversee AP/AR processes.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and gross margins.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting; track budget vs. actual performance
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to the CEO.
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns and GST/HST returns.
- Coordinate the year-end close process and collaborate with external accountants on SR&ED, review, and compilation engagements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and evaluate government grants, incentives, and funding opportunities to support business initiatives.
- Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior staff.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or a multi-entity environment.
- Hands-on accounting skills: able to manage close, reconciliations, and reporting with limited support.
- Strong technical knowledge of ASPE, corporate tax, and GST/HST.
- Proven experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with NetSuite.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and present effectively to executives.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial Leadership: Strong ability to oversee multi-entity financial operations and provide clear insights.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of ASPE, tax, and compliance requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
