- Replaces plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets).
- Repairs plumbing fixtures (water supply lines, waste lines, sprinkler lines).
- Performs carpentry repairs (cupboards, shelves, furniture, walls, ceilings, windows).
- Applies materials: drywall, wood panelling, floor/ceiling coverings, glass.
- Constructs shelves and cupboards.
- Applies paint and finishes (brush, roller, spray).
- Removes/replaces tiles, linoleum, and carpet.
- Performs minor renovations (e.g., constructing walls).
- Diagnoses equipment/appliance malfunctions.
- Performs electrical/mechanical repairs: disassembling motors, cleaning, oiling, greasing, replacing parts.
- Conducts welding repairs (soldering, changing seals/bearings).
- Reassembles and installs items (timers, switches, receptacles, ballasts, circuits).
- Refers equipment to Supervisor for repair when needed.
- Maintains and repairs equipment (wheelchairs, stretchers, lifts, etc.).
- Coordinates moving of equipment to Plant Services for repair.
- Identifies when equipment requires replacement and notifies Chief Engineer.
- Coordinates major repairs with external companies.
- Inspects repair work and arranges follow-up if necessary.
- Maintains inventory and parts records; places orders with requisition forms.
- Keeps records of work requests (received and completed).
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness, safety, and effectiveness.
- Performs safety checks on equipment and electrical appliances (faulty wires, grounding issues).
- Conducts preventative maintenance on designated equipment per procedures.
- Performs daily rounds, checks mechanical equipment, and records information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
