Our client is a forward-thinking and growing bookkeeping firm supporting a range of organizations across Canada. They’re currently looking for a Senior Bookkeeper with deep Non-Profit experience to join their team. This person will play a critical role in supporting clients in the charitable and non-profit sector, and must understand the nuances that make financial management in this space unique — including grant funding, donation receipts, and CRA compliance.The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety, and can work independently while being part of a collaborative team. This role can be performed remotely or in-person .Key Responsibilities:Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for non-profit organizationsPrepare financial statements and year-end packagesCreate and manage budgets, forecasts, and grant-specific reportingIssue donation receipts in compliance with CRA guidelinesReconcile bank accounts, track expenses, and manage accounts payable/receivableTrack project time and expenses across multiple funding sourcesClean up and organize incomplete or disorganized recordsSupport clients with QBO, QuickBooks Desktop, and tools like Dext or HubdocProvide guidance to junior team members and clients when neededRequirements:Minimum 10 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experienceMinimum 10 years of experience working with Canadian non-profitsStrong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and grant reportingExperience issuing donation receipts and working with charitable complianceHands-on experience with QBO / QuickBooks DesktopProficiency managing GST/HST and PSTSolid organizational skills with an eye for detail and accuracyComfortable working independently and managing multiple prioritiesCPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation is a strong assetExperience with Microsoft Office, multi-client environments, and project tracking are assetsAbout You:You’re adaptable, curious, and willing to learnYou bring a positive attitude and a sense of humourYou’re comfortable with cloud-based accounting appsYou enjoy helping others and are open to supporting team membersYou take pride in accuracy and delivering excellent client service
