Our client, in the Logistics Industry is seeking a Licensed Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Dartmouth, NS. The ideal candidate will have a Heavy Duty Mechanics License and Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driving history.Job Title: Diesel MechanicLocation: Dartmouth North, NSPay Range: $39.02/hourJob Description
  • Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals
  • Assist with entering data in the mechanic's maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA))
  • Communicates concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager
  • Responds to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers
Qualifications
  • Certified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license
  • Valid Class 1/AZ Driver's License
  • 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required
  • Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems & procedures
  • The ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems with minimum vehicle downtime
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone in fast paced environment
  • A clear driving history and criminal history
