Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a Volumetric Analyst to support external financial and internal stewardship reporting and analysis. This permanent role, based in St. John’s, NL, requires strong technical accounting and analytical skills, precision, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  • Record goods issues, goods receipts, write on/offs, rebrands, and other volumetric movements at assigned stock points
  • Review, action, and reconcile open items for assigned stock points
  • Value inventory from feedstock through production, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation for accounting purposes
  • Perform month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting on assigned areas
  • Work closely with traders and schedulers to understand and record business scenarios
  • Record volumetric movements in manufacturing plants, including PMB, production/consumption, and rebrands
  • Book known oil loss items and calculate unknown oil loss percentages
  • Provide regular reporting and variance analysis on inventory, addressing discrepancies and offering explanations
  • Contribute to process improvements, digital innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Degree in business administration, management, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in volumetric accounting, inventory tracking, or related functions
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
  • Experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems) and accounting software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a motivation to learn and grow
  • Interest in digital innovation and continuous improvement
