The Medical Transportation Program is located in La Ronge.About the position: The Medical Transportation Coordinator provides supervision and direction to the Medical Transportation Team and works under the direction of the Administration Manager. S/he is responsible for day-to-day supervising, scheduling, operating and maintaining the Medical Transportation Program for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide Medical Transportation benefits to clients in a manner consistent with NIHB directives;
  • Ensure support to clientele throughout the process (i.e., obtain/submit information, completion of forms, provide clients with notice of appointments and travel, etc.);
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets and yearly program planning, develop proposals, reports, service delivery models and track statistical information;
  • Assist in development and/or implementation of community health plan, strategic plan and evaluations;
  • Provide supervision and direction to Medical Transportation Team;
  • Maintain positive public relations with clients and work effectively with the health care team;
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem solving and ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Administration or health related field or equivalent (combination of education and relevant experience may be considered); Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role; Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task; Willing to work flexible hours; Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of the Woodland Cree culture & traditions is an asset; Ability to understand/speak the Cree language is an asset, but not required; Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
