AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Laboratory Coordinator. This position will work out of our Lloydminster location.The Lab Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of samples through the laboratory. This role acts as a liaison between the laboratory and Client Services, ensuring timely sample processing and addressing any operational issues that arise. The Lab Coordinator also supports laboratory operations in the absence of the Lab Supervisor or Manager.What you will be doing:
- Track and monitor the progression of samples through the laboratory.
- Address any concerns or delays in the sample processing workflow to ensure timely completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the laboratory and Client Services.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis for operational issues.
- Provide recommendations to Lab Management for process improvements and issue resolution.
- Provide supervision and guidance to laboratory staff in the absence of the Lab Manager or Supervisor.
- Experience with GC/MS/FID, IC/ICP OES, and Spectrophotometer testing.
- Ensure smooth daily operations, adherence to procedures, and timely task completion.
- Perform laboratory analysis and technician duties as required to support team functions
- Ensure compliance with Quality Control (QC) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain ongoing monitoring of QA/QC data, including charts, records, and other documentation.
- Minimum Science Technical Diploma, BSc, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in a senior role.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and coaching abilities.
- In depth knowledge of laboratory processes and operations.
- Advanced computer skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- General office environment with some exposure to laboratory environment.
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time in an office setting.
- Compliance with established safety procedures and appropriate PPE.
- Manual dexterity is required.
- Exposure to excessive noise, dust and/or varying temperatures is rare.
- May require the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
