We are currently recruiting individuals who are inspired by opportunity, driven by results, and aligned to NWP's core values of being responsive, innovative, and connected.The RoleThe Maintenance Service Worker performs preventative and demand maintenance duties in consultation with other full-time staff, using a team approach to problem-solving. The Maintenance Service Worker works in conjunction with full-time/temporary/seasonal staff, primarily, in the following areas:
  • Interior demand and preventative duties.
  • Exterior demand and preventative maintenance
  • Equipment operation and maintenance
  • Fleet maintenance

Training in Heavy Equipment Operation, small engine repair/servicing and pesticide application license are preferred.Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
  • Interior demand and preventative skills (ie. repairs/maintenance to drywall, flooring, wall finishes, t bar, baseboard, minor plumbing issues, minor electrical repairs, lighting fixtures and bulb replacements, assets, and infrastructure. Hang / install window furnishings. Move equipment and furniture).
  • Exterior demand and preventative maintenance skills (ie. repairs/maintenance to snow/ice clearing and sanding/salting of entrances, walkways and roadways using manual labor and equipment. Sweep wash and paint entrances walkways and roadways. Load and Haul gravel/sand/salt. Mowing, trimming, edging, herbicide spraying, signage, irrigation system, garbage/debris collection, garbage/debris pickup roadway, assets, and infrastructure).
  • Able to operate and maintain all maintenance equipment, including mowers, sweeper, forklift, loaders, grader, gravel truck, power tools, generators, and other seasonal equipment; maintain records.
  • Able to operate heavy equipment to remove snow and ice from sidewalks/entry doors; operate sweeper/snow-blower and other related equipment to remove snow and ice from sidewalks/stairways/entry areas.
  • Experience collaborating with contractors, consultants on small and large projects as needed.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
