- Provide visionary leadership for the Marketing & Communication (MARCOM) teams, ensuring alignment with the polytechnic strategic objectives.
- Oversee external communications, media relations, and crisis management to safeguard and enhance the polytechnic's reputation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication plans for major institutional announcements and initiatives.
- Strategic Internal Communication Leadership
- Executive Voice & Thought Leadership: Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive team to refine their "executive voice," ensuring their communications are authentic, consistent, and effectively champion the polytechnic's mission to staff and the broader community
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies that support GBP strategy, organizational changes and promote work culture, with a strong focus on EDII.
- Executive Team Membership & Brand Reputation
- Monitor and manage the polytechnic's brand, employing proactive strategies to enhance and protect the polytechnic's reputation and address any potential challenges.
- Implement strategies to address potential reputational challenges and maintain a positive public image.
- Research/Market Data Analysis
- Leads the coordination and brand market research, including partnering with internal stakeholders, like IR, as well as external sources such as, CICan, OCAS, Polytechnics Ontario to inform, guide and execute on our branding and enrolment strategies and opportunities going forward, both domestically and internationally.
- Directs market research projects that provide competitive intelligence and market trends to ensure proper development, adjustments and sun-setting of polytechnic strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in Business or Business Administration with a Marketing focus, Communications or a Public Affairs related field is required from a recognized post-secondary institute is required.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in an executive leadership role is required.
- Extensive experience with and a sound knowledge of marketing, communications, public affairs, media, events management, strategic communications, budget management, strategic planning, community engagement, issues and crises management, governance, and strategic brand management.
- Broad leadership skills managing a diverse team of experienced individuals.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the Polytechnic's priorities on diversity and equity.
- Able to travel to other campuses for marketing and communication purposes.
- The Polytechnic requires proof of degrees, credentials, or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post-secondary institutions and/or their international equivalents. Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews or offer.
