Job Start Date: Jun 17, 2026Join Our Team as a Camp Leader!The Camp Leader provides service and support in the areas of training and camping activities. The Camp Leader is the point of contact for camping activities, collaborates with stakeholders, oversees logistics, and assists in developing engaging camp curricula and schedules.The Camp Leader works with other service areas in the agency to ensure the inclusion of clinical, educational, recreational, and cultural components into the framework of all camp programs.Qualifications:Education and Professional Certification:
- Completion of high school diploma
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in teaching outdoor education and group leadership
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form genuine relationships and professional working alliances with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to role-model, motivate, coach, mentor, and support others.
- Outgoing personality with interests that can be used to engage participants (i.e. outdoors, arts, sports, etc.).
- Strong written and oral communication skills with effective presentation skills.
- Emotional competence and self awareness.
- Develop literature/videos surrounding our camping programs for external stakeholders.
- Design, monitor, and amend internal camping documents and forms.
- Arrange end of summer camping program celebration.
- Explore new camping and outdoor education opportunities.
- Support programs coming in and out of agency campsites.
- Assist in the setup and tear down of all Ranch Ehrlo's owned/leased campsites.
- Develop and implement curriculum for each camp trip.
- Coordinate the inventory per camp site and purchase for replacement supplies.
- Arrange end of summer camping program celebration.
- Explore new camping and outdoor education opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide leadership and support to the team, potential employees, practicum students, and volunteers as directed by the director.
- Work with team members to create a positive and productive work environment.
- Display positive role modelling, agency values, and fairness.
- Collaborate with and communicate to the multidisciplinary team when required.
- Submit receipts and reconcile expenses for approved camping expenditures.
- Ensure care, cleanliness, and maintenance of assigned assets and resources including; camp sites, building(s), vehicles(s), furnishings, and equipment.
- Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
- Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
- The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
- The successful candidate must be able to work at remote locations. This position will require you to camp on location and work over a 24-hour time period. Schedule reflects that successful candidate starts on Wednesday at 0800 and will complete rotation Friday at 1600. Sleep compensation will be provided, providing a 40-hour work week.
