Senior Financial Analyst – Revenue/Projects - HybridThe Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, support and control to various business units within Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions.Location: Ottawa, ONWe Take Care of Our PeoplePaid Time Off I RRSP with Employer Match I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Competitive Pay I Referral Program I Recognition I I *Your Challenge:Revenue recognition related analysis with main focus on project related data analysis, recording and reportingRevenue forecasting as driven by project deliverables and costs based on percentage of completion, focusing on contracts eligible for over-time recognitionMonthly GL account reconciliations for revenue related accounts across multiple business unitsMonthly reporting on project related data reconciliation and submissionOngoing/timely update and review of project listing and related filesProactive communication with Business Unit Controllers and Program Managers for deriving reasonable Estimated Costs at Completion, challenging assumptions used in estimates, monitoring costs incurred to date against budget/forecast and developing models for forecastingOngoing/timely reporting to various stakeholders (BU leaders, Controllers, Program Managers and Senior Mgmt.) for project financial data and variance analysisTimely preparation of reporting packages to Corporate with regards to Project related financial informationAid in the revenue recognition/project process improvement as requiredAid in various internal/external audits including Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment and compliance in responsible areasAssist with budgeting and forecasting on an as needed basisAd Hoc Reporting and AnalysisGeneral accounting and finance tasks as requiredBackup and support for other members of the finance teamWhat you Bring:A post secondary diploma/degree from a college or university in Accounting and or BusinessProfessional Accounting Designation highly preferredAudit experience with a large firm considered an asset5-7 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing or high technology environment; or a combinationMust have superior Excel/Word and PowerPoint skillsExcellent communication skills (oral and written)Able to work effectively as an individual contributor as well as part of a team, ability to work with cross-functional teams, to follow procedures and use system toolsExperience with cost/revenue analysis and audits considered an assetExcellent analytical skills to collect data, understand significance and explain issues; able to take initiatives and recommend solutions / process improvementsExcellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems preferably SAPGood understanding of US GAAP and general/cost accounting principles and practicesAbility to embrace change with enthusiasm for continuous improvementWho We Are:Our focus on quality and innovation is built on more than 80 years of experience engineering and delivering highly reliable, high-performance solutions on a diverse range of platforms for a wide variety of defense and aerospace applications worldwide.
