As a member of this team, you will Discover all the best of Community, in both work and life.About the Role:Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practical Nurse Instructor to teach Lab from our Maple Ridge BC campus. This position offers an opportunity to mentor and shape the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging and comprehensive instruction.This role offers 28-35 hours per week and has the potential to lead to future instructional opportunities, advancing your career in education.Rate Range: $33 to $35/hour. CAD
Schedule - Tuesday to Friday - 8:00am to 2:30pm (plus 2 hours of office hours per week)
Start date - September 15, 2026Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in lab, and clinical settings.
  • Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum that aligns with PTIRU compliance (extensive in-house curriculum orientation and training provided).
  • Provide hands-on training and supervision in clinical environments.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Stay current with best practices and developments in nursing education
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3,900 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity or mental health or Acute Care.
  • Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required.
  • Previous instructor experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset.
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
  • Ability to travel to local sites withing region.
