- Record and reconcile financial transactions within general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare and review working papers, supporting account balances and investigate variances or discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries, producing analytical and ad hoc financial reports as required.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including: financial analysis, consolidation reporting, and variance investigation.
- Prepare supporting information required for corporate tax filings.
- Contribute to process harmonization initiatives focused on efficiency, consistency, and cost control.
- Analyze account and cost centre balances to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate accounting policies, standards, and IFRS requirements.
- Support compliance with CEO/CFO certification requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to analyze financial statement components and provide insights.
- Collaborate across departments to improve processes and resolve issues impacting financial reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to overall operational success by taking on additional responsibilities as required.
- A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, with 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA designation, or progress toward completion, considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and AccPac.
- Well developed analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and recommend solutions.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Retail industry experience considered an asset.
- Strong computer proficiency, including working knowledge of AccPac
- Advanced Excel skills, including: lookup, array formula’s, power query, data modelling etc.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- A proactive, solutions oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team leader
- Comfortable working in an environment that involves extended periods of sitting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent computer use that may cause eye strain, and working amid open-office noise and interruptions.
- Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
