Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of plumbing and gas systems, along with associated appliances, across a diverse range of company facilities and equipment. Leveraging specialized technical expertise, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting infrastructure reliability, operational efficiency, and CPKC's ongoing commitment to excellence in rail transportation and facility operations.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Install, repair, and maintain new and existing piping systems, including high-pressure systems used in power generation, steam heating, and industrial applications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical drawings to plan, design, and execute complex piping installations accurately and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend piping materials to precise specifications to ensure proper system performance and compliance with project and regulatory requirements
- Assemble, join, and secure piping systems using welding, brazing, soldering, and mechanical fastening techniques to produce safe, durable, and high-quality installations
- Perform HVAC system repair, replacement, and maintenance to support effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning within commercial and industrial facilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain storm drainage and related systems to prevent flooding, maintain structural integrity, and optimize system performance
- Ensure full compliance with applicable safety policies, operational procedures, and Transport Canada regulations within a railroad and industrial environment
- Work safely within a high-risk, team-oriented setting, maintaining constant awareness when working around heavy machinery, moving equipment, and active rail operations
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license
- An Inter-Provincial Red Seal in the trade of Plumbing
- Possess a Class B Gas license
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in using hand-powered tools; experience with heavy machinery operation is considered an asset
- Acquire and maintain a Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certification at a minimum of Level "D"
