This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design-build model.Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5.This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team on a complex, high-value project that supports long-term regional growth and environmental sustainability. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and advance your career with a global infrastructure leader, we encourage you to apply and grow with us.Job DescriptionThe Systems Director plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the successful planning, integration, and execution of all systems engineering, systems integration, and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities across the ECWE SRS construction project. This role is responsible for driving technical excellence, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and leading a high-performing team through all phases of the project lifecycle.The Systems Director will also foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability—coaching and mentoring a multidisciplinary team to deliver results in line with industry best practices and project objectives.ResponsibilitiesStrategic and Technical Leadership
  • Lead the formulation and execution of systems engineering, systems integration, and T&C strategies across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all systems-related processes comply with contractual output specifications and applicable standards.
  • Provide regular updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to the Contracting Authority and senior project stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous alignment of digital systems for requirements management, Verification and Validation (V&V), and compliance tracking.
Team Development, Coaching & Mentoring
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of systems engineers, interface managers, integration specialists, and T&C professionals.
  • Create a collaborative and inclusive team environment focused on technical development and performance excellence.
  • Mentor junior and senior staff, providing career development guidance and supporting technical growth.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and feedback mechanisms to encourage professional growth and accountability.
Integration & Interface Management
  • Oversee coordination of all internal and external interfaces, including third-party stakeholders, contractors, and infrastructure owners.
  • Ensure seamless integration between greenfield systems and existing TTC infrastructure.
  • Monitor and enforce the execution of interface control documents (ICDs), integration plans, and T&C readiness across all subsystems.
Verification, Validation & Compliance
  • Oversee implementation of a robust V&V framework to track requirements throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Produce detailed V&V reports, compliance matrices, and digital records to demonstrate contractual compliance and system readiness.
  • Ensure timely resolution of system-related issues and non-conformances through proactive risk management.

Required Skills and CompetenciesExperience:
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, integration, and T&C on major rail, subway, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, multidisciplinary systems teams and successful integration of systems with third-party infrastructure.
  • Proven track record using digital requirements management tools (preferably IBM DOORS Next Gen).
  • Experience in managing conformance with systems assurance standards (EN 50126, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).
  • Experience in delivering T&C for complex rail environments, including greenfield-to-brownfield system integration.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.Certifications: Professional certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP or equivalent) is advantageous but not required.Key Competencies:
