- Serve as a senior technical resource for hazardous materials investigations and environmental field programs, providing guidance on investigation strategies, sampling approaches, and regulatory considerations.
- Lead and provide senior oversight for hazardous building materials surveys including asbestos, lead, mould and designated substances in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
- Lead and provide senior oversight for abatement and demolition program oversight.
- Conduct and oversee indoor air quality investigations, such as mould assessments, LEED testing, particulates, volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, silica, general comfort parameters, etc.
- Mentor and train junior and intermediate staff in field investigation techniques, sampling protocols, documentation, and health and safety procedures, supporting their growth into independent field investigators and environmental consultants.
- Perform and support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including historical reviews, site inspections, soil and groundwater sampling programs.
- Provide senior field leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff, supporting their technical development and ensuring high-quality field documentation and safe work practices.
- Prepare clear, detailed technical reports summarizing field observations, sampling results, regulatory considerations, and recommended actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical specialists to plan and execute environmental investigation programs.
- Prepare and contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates for environmental investigation and hazardous materials assessment projects.
- Review field notes, data collection records, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams to coordinate field programs and communicate technical findings.
- Contribute to building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Support the continued development and growth of Englobe’s environmental field team through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
- Apply and promote Englobe’s strong health and safety culture during all field and office activities.
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of consulting experience in hazardous materials investigations.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior staff in field practices and technical work.
- Strong field experience in hazardous materials surveys, indoor air quality investigations, and environmental sampling programs.
- Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Strong technical report writing and data interpretation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, well-structured technical reports and proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document field findings and communicate technical information to clients and project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and quality in field documentation and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary consulting team.
- Commitment to health and safety and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
