Are you an Engineer in training with interest in manufacturing processes? Do have skills in coding with modern digital methods including python, JavaScript, HTML, SQL and databases?Then we may be looking for you.The Engineering, Mechanical, Smart Factory & Big Data co-op student transforms existing processes into modern digitized processes using IIOT, and other modern computer hardware and software tools. Responsible for improving manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. In conjunction with Quality, Engineering and Operations work groups, takes a key role in the development and implementation of smart manufacturing cells and work processes.Why You’ll Love Working Here:Global Presence: Be part of a global company with diverse teams and the opportunity to work on international projects.Career Advancement: Clear career paths and opportunities for advancement within the company.Employee Well-being: Focus on employee health and well-being with various wellness programs and initiatives.What You’ll Be Doing:Develop automated process data acquisition and control of equipmentAssist and code the development of python, JavaScript, HTML, database, SQL, no-code and other apps to digitize the shop floor.May help maintain and develop equipment utilizing machine learning techniques.Work independently while taking initiative where appropriate from the office to the shop floorWork closely with production and technical support resources and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projectsDevelop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, continuous improvement and project managementMonitor and understand new technologies to improve quality and efficiencyMust be willing to work any assigned daily shift, weekends, and overtime as requiredCoordinate continuous improvement initiativesWorks in compliance with Johnson Electric Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001All other duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking For:Qualifications:Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics student, or similar, with preference for automotive parts or manufacturing backgroundPreference is for students in the latter years of their programTechnical & Skill Requirements:Excellent computer skills and experience using modern computer techniques (python, JavaScript, HTML)Experience with open source software, hardware and techniques. Machine learning is considered an assetDatabase and data manipulation skills with SQL, python, csv, etc.Knowledge of Windows OS, Linux OS, and IIOT devicesCan-do attitude with desire to learnKnowledge of PLC programming and robots is considered an assetAbility to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrentlyExcellent communication skills (oral and written)How to Apply:
