Your Opportunity:This position is located in Strathmore, Alberta at the Strathmore District Health Services Hospital. The Pharmacist will help support the provision of Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Distributions functions for Inpatients. The position will require active participation on multidisciplinary patient care teams, working with other health care professionals and the provision of drug information to Pharmacy, Nursing, medicine and other multidisciplinary team members. This position encompasses supervisory functions, committee & project work and teaching of staff and students.Description:As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA) Practice to expanded scope. Prac ID for lab ordering. Recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years) Preferred Qualifications:Recent Hospital experience working with multidisciplinary teams. 2 to 4 years clinical experience within a hospital facility. Recent project/committee participation, supervisory & staff training an asset. Authorized to administer injection. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Recent experience with Connect Care computer system. Demonstrated good time management skills, capable of making decisions, working independently & cooperatively in team environments.
