To deliver a consistent and superior level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. To ensure that property rules and standards are observed by maintaining a highly visible and reassuring presence through their assigned patrol and post duties. To act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment.The successful candidate will work a structured two-week rotation of 12 hour shifts, offering a consistent schedule and dedicated personal time off. Rotations may include day or night shifts, including some weekends.The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited/CF Chinook Centre (“Employer”) has implemented a Group Hours of Work Averaging Arrangement – 42 hours. This arrangement applies to all Employees listed in Appendix B (“Employees”).All CF Chinook Centre Security department employees working the following 2 week, 36/48 hours averaging period.What you will deliver:
- Provide outstanding service to customers and clients, while assisting with safety concerns, illness or emergencies etc.…
- Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules and regulations in a reasonable manner;
- Protect the property by performing highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones and positively engage with clients on a continual basis;
- Work closely with other departments, especially Guest Services, to provide customer service support, respond to and have accountability for the resolution of customer concerns/complaints;
- Remain vigilant for signs of criminal and/or suspicious behaviour and initiate the appropriate steps to report/follow up as per operating guidelines;
- Remain prepared to respond to crime, disturbances, fire and other emergency situations as stated in (SOP) and Emergency Response Plans;
- Where authorized to do so, respond to crimes that have occurred and ensure appropriate law enforcement authorities are summoned;
- Report and follow up on hazards and/or deficiencies identified during the course of duty
- Inspect fire equipment and escalators daily;
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR or AED support until medical professionals arrive;
- Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using CF's standard report-writing program;
- Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act;
- Support of JH&S program to ensure occupational safety is prioritized and effectively practised throughout all areas of property operations;
- To provide after-hours lock-up and morning open-ups;
- Complete CF Serve and Secure program with annual recertification;
- Complete procedures related to building operating hours and traffic management programs
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This role requires successful completion of both the theoretical and physical components of Use of Force training. The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to perform de-escalation and intervention techniques is essential to performing the duties of this role.

- Post-secondary education in Law Enforcement/Security or equivalent;
- Minimum one (1) year of shopping centre security experience preferred;
- Provincial Security License is required;
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification;
- Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act;
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- WHMIS and other safety courses an asset;
- Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations;
- Good digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Suite) is required;
- Prior work experience in a customer service environment is a definite asset;
