- Prepare and review tax provisions and income tax returns ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely filing
- Manage tax payments and coordinate with external preparers and auditors
- Identify and mitigate tax compliance risks and potential disputes
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize benefits and minimize liabilities
- Provide tax guidance to internal teams on projects, transactions and strategic initiatives
- Monitor and assess the financial impact of tax changes on the business
- Lead and coordinate tax audits, prepare documentation and liaise with tax authorities
- Identify and implement process and system improvements leveraging best practices and technology
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or Master's in Taxation an asset; completion of In-Depth Tax Program an asset
- 5+ years of experience in corporate taxation
- Demonstrated expertise in Canadian tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of corporate tax compliance, planning and risk management; US tax experience an asset
- Ability to handle complex tax inquiries, conduct thorough research and provide accurate, well-reasoned responses
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CaseWare and/or Taxprep an asset
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
