- Act as a scientific expert in designated therapeutic areas, interacting with and facilitating effective communication between AbbVie and healthcare professionals (HCP), including clinical investigators and External Experts (EEs).
- Deliver scientific presentations and engage in field-based interactions to provide updates on AbbVie's pipeline and research initiatives and to gain HCP perspectives and feedback.
- Collaborate with affiliate brand teams to integrate medical strategies into brand planning and pipeline commercialization efforts.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans, incorporating medical insights into affiliate brand and pipeline strategies.
- Lead and support affiliate touchpoint processes for assigned pipeline assets and/or disease areas to ensure alignment with strategic brand plans and commercialization models.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including Market Access and Health Economics, to integrate scientific insights into commercial planning.
- Gather and communicate insights from External Experts (EEs) through individual interactions in the field and organized advisory boards.
- Actively reach out to experts in therapeutic areas new to AbbVie to introduce the company and establish collaborative relationships.
- Collaborate with EEs to explore their interest and expertise in participating in AbbVie's drug development initiatives and other research partnerships, enhancing AbbVie's reputation in emerging therapeutic areas.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and AbbVie's policies, maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity.
- Support requests for compassionate use or named patient access to AbbVie medications, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Must have an Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a combination of field-based and strategic roles.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing strategic medical plans.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (in English and French) with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to integrate scientific knowledge into commercial strategies effectively.
- Affiliate R&D personnel: Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Operations Manager, Medical Managers/Advisors.
- Market access teams incl. HTA teams; Affiliate Early Brand teams.
- Area and HQ based MHI teams.
- Project/Medical Directors and Clinical Teams within Pharmaceutical Development and Global Medical Affairs.
- Search & Evaluation team.
- Participating research investigators and clinical research staff; thought leaders/external experts.
- Institutions and Scientific or Medical Societies.
- Hospitals, other healthcare providers, payers and Local Regulatory Authorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for customer-facing activities.
- English speaking clients outside the province of Quebec.
- Anglophone region outside the province of Quebec.
