We're recruiting for a Freelance Accessibility Specialist to conduct a comprehensive ADA/AODA compliance audit for two existing websites. The goal is to evaluate current accessibility standards, identify compliance gaps, and provide clear recommendations for improvement.Project Scope
  • Perform a full accessibility audit of two live websites
  • Evaluate compliance against ADA and AODA standards (WCAG 2.1 AA minimum preferred)
  • Identify accessibility barriers affecting users with disabilities
  • Provide a detailed written report outlining:
  • Areas of non-compliance
  • Severity level of issues
  • Recommended remediation steps
  • Prioritized action plan
  • Share the checklist or methodology used to conduct the audit
Responsibilities
  • Use both automated tools and manual testing methods
  • Review site structure, navigation, forms, media, and interactive elements
  • Assess keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, and semantic structure
  • Deliver findings in a clear, organized, and actionable format
  • Be available to clarify findings and answer follow-up questions
  • 3–7 years of professional experience in WordPress development
  • Proven experience conducting ADA/AODA website accessibility audits
  • Strong understanding of WCAG 2.0/2.1 guidelines (AA compliance required)
  • Experience preparing formal accessibility compliance reports
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., WAVE, Axe, Lighthouse, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon timelines
