About the RoleWe are seeking a COSS (Coordonnateur en Santé et Sécurité) to oversee health and safety compliance for a mid-rise construction project on the South Shore of Montreal. The COSS will play a key role in ensuring that all safety standards and regulations are respected on-site, fostering a secure work environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor the site-specific Health & Safety plan in compliance with CNESST and provincial regulations.Conduct daily site inspections and proactively identify potential hazards.Ensure subcontractors and workers comply with safety procedures and PPE requirements.Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for new and existing workers.Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures.Collaborate with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to integrate safety into project planning and execution.Act as the main point of contact with CNESST inspectors and ensure timely communication of safety issues.Promote a strong safety culture by engaging workers and management in proactive prevention strategies.QualificationsValid CSP/ASP Construction card (ASP Construction en santé et sécurité sur les chantiers).Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a COSS or similar role in construction (experience with mid-rise or high-rise projects is an asset).Strong knowledge of CNESST regulations and Quebec construction safety standards.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site teams.Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.Bilingual (French required, English an asset).What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience.Full-time contract for the duration of the project, with potential for future opportunities.A supportive and professional team environment.Opportunity to work on a large-scale mid-rise residential project on Montreal’s South Shore.
