
Technical Lead - Digital Control Computer

- This position is to develop a Technical Lead for DCC. Initially, the candidate will be required to shadow the current technical lead on an ongoing DCC refurbishment project, all duties will be carried out under general supervision of the current Technical Lead, and will include the following:
- Timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
- Performing suitability assessment (and qualification where needed) of system hardware and pre‑developed software components.
- Support designing, installation and testing of an assigned product test environment.
- Integrating software and hardware components and preparing software engineering documents such as test procedures, test reports, operation manuals etc.
- Implementing and maintaining key project support systems (i.e., configuration management, document management and change control systems) for DCC Replacement Project.
- Supporting the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware.
- Support OPEX Review - Assembling OPEX and assessing what changes should be incorporated in the future designs.
- Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by the various Computer System manufactures and vendors.
- Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.

- Engineering degree (Electrical, Control, Software) from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15 to 20 years relevant work experience.
- Computer programming experience.
- Develop software and scripts using a variety of programming languages/toolsets/environments including, but not limited to:
- IEC61131-3 languages
- C & C++
- Java
- XML
- Visual Studio
- Eclipse
- LabVIEW
- QNX or another UNIX-Like operating system
- Engineering drawings interpretation.
- Engineering Change Control knowledge.
- Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Analytical ability and effective decision making.
- Written/oral communication skills.
