- Work with mechanical and electrical manager to establish and grow a team of electrical engineers in the GTA.
- Lead a team, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular team meetings and foster a positive team environment.
- Work with managers and business development leaders to pursue work in Ontario primarily focusing on GTA.
- Design electrical systems for various building types across Ontario.
- Manage project assignments from proposal to construction, including power distribution, lighting, and security systems.
- Collaborate with a design team to develop electrical designs and prepare project drawings and specifications.
- Communicate with clients, design partners, authorities, and contractors.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards.
- Adhere to project budgets and timelines, maintaining accurate project tracking and billing.
- Review existing systems and prepare condition reports and feasibility studies.
- Prepare load calculations and select systems and equipment.
- Coordinate project drawings using CAD and BIM software.
- Participate in fee proposals and business development activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P. Eng.).
- The drive and passion to build and lead a team.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering consulting for buildings and infrastructure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a team to deliver design submissions, often with demanding timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, Proficiency with AGI or ETAP is considered an asset.
- Ability to deliver comprehensive design submissions, often with demanding timelines.
- Experience in creating tender document packages with drawings and specifications.
- Experience with site reviews of building electrical systems.
- An extensive understanding of building construction and building electrical systems and infrastructure.
- A detailed working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code and the National Building Code of Canada.
