- Deliver training and development programs for mobile equipment operators and mill personnel, ensuring workers are properly authorized, competent, and qualified to perform assigned duties.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of training programs, instructional materials, and assessment resources.
- Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures to promote clarity, consistency, and operator progression.
- Maintain and update training records and competency tracking systems.
- Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Verify that employee training aligns with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Identify skill gaps and training needs to enhance operator competency and program effectiveness.
- Complete required documentation, including training records, coaching logs, and competency sign-offs.
- Contribute to departmental continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operator capability and safety performance.
- Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to workplace safety through daily practices, communication, and professional conduct.
- Prepare lesson plans and structured course materials to support effective instruction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
- Demonstrated experience delivering training on surface and mill equipment, processes, and operational procedures.
- Experience providing safety-related training programs, such as working at heights and confined space awareness.
- “Train-the-Trainer” certification or equivalent instructional accreditation.
- Minimum five years of experience with relevant surface and mill operational certifications or credentials.
- Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
The position offers a competitive remuneration package including a salary range of $74,750 – $122,350 with additional benefits and incentives. This site offers in-town accomodations, and a Travel Allowance for those, outside of the region, on a 7×7 day or 2×2 week rotation. Available marshalling points include: Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Toronto, and Rouyn-Noranda, QC.Contact Us
