In this role you will report to the Production Foreman, Maintenance Coordinator. The role will be accountable for adhering to safe work practices that comply to EH&S guidelines and Cenovus internal practices and expectations, work with the Operations staff to provide troubleshooting expertise when required, implementing preventative and corrective work.While this vacancy is currently at Christina Lake this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Christina Lake, Foster Creek, or Sunrise, based on business need).Work Environment:Foster Creek & Christina LakeThis is a full-time employee position working a shift rotationFoster Creek and Christina Lake has full-service camp facilitiesDepending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locationsFoster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and EdmontonChristina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, ABSunriseThis is a full-time employee position working a shift rotationSunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position.Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and EdmontonAt the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenitiesWhat you’ll do:Ensure effective commissioning of trade equipment (Control valves, transmitters, control systems etc.) following repairs and replacementsRespond to after hour call outsMaintain housekeeping standardsInterpret drawings and use appropriate codes and follow installation standards and practicesExamine process flow drawings, equipment lists and specifications for reference purposes and for resolving work proceduresProvide support and technical advice to facilities engineering and project personnelProvide support to planning when it comes to preventative or corrective maintenance requirementsSupport the scheduling department in order to prevent schedule conflicts and find opportunitiesManage third-party contractors as requiredResponsible to participate and continuously improvement of key performance indicators (KPIs)Support all work order process from creation to closure as per Cenovus standardsProvide input to team leads and warehouse personnel regarding equipment and spare parts inventory requirementsWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaMinimum Grade 12 DiplomaMinimum 2 years’ experience as Journeyman Instrumentation TechnicianDual ticket Electrical certification would be considered an assetProficiency in CMMS software (SAP) considered an assetFirst Aid, TDG, WHMIS, Confined Space and H2S Alive certificationsWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.
