Job Description:We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic construction company in Winnipeg. In this role, you will manage full-cycle accounting for a group of companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial operations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in the construction industry who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and demonstrates excellent attention to detail.Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting for multiple entities.
Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to support informed decision-making.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Monitor cash flow, job costing, and project profitability to maintain financial health.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and corporate reporting standards.
Coordinate and manage year-end audits, serving as the primary liaison with external audit.
Requirements:
CPA designation is required.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role such as Controller.
Previous experience in the construction industry is essential.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, job costing, and multi-entity financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Strong analytical and leadership abilities to guide teams and support strategic business decisions.
