This is a senior-level individual contributor position focused entirely on technical delivery — there are no management or supervisory responsibilities associated with this role. You will be working in a cross-functional team, using agile methodologies to build on-prem and cloud native applications for the financial services industry. We are looking for true team players who can work beyond their specialty to help the team deliver. Every team member is responsible for the quality of the product and should be willing to work on any tasks needed, be it front-end, back end, test automation, deployment automation, etc. The successful candidate will use their experience and talent to help drive the delivery of the system, introduce new tech and guide the evolution of our applications.What you will be doing:Participate and contribute on all team activities such as Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint RetrospectiveDevelop front end React componentsDevelop backend services using Node.js frameworks such as hono/NestJSDevelop and test server-side code using Java, Hibernate, and SpringBe comfortable using relational databases and knowledge of SQLPerform peer reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s workDesign and implement unit, integration, and automation testsResponsible for code integration and code deployment of existing modules as well as provide new pipelines for new modules (CI/CD)Provide technical leadership to other team membersBreak-down complex functionalities into granular tasks and storiesStay current on emerging technologiesWhat you must have:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentProven track record of architecting complex enterprise-level solutions and making key technical design decisions8+ years of experience with software engineering3+ years of experience developing server-side applications using Node.js frameworks such as or similar to NestJS/Hono3+ years of experience with Java3+ years of experience with React/TypescriptExperience with AWSExperience deploying infrastructure to AWSExperience with serverless app deploymentExperience with DockerSolid understanding of HTML5, ES6, CSS3, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworksExperience with source code management such as GITProficient with relational databases (ideally Oracle or PostgreSQL)Experience working on Agile teamsExposure to Kotlin, NoSQL is nice to haveSolid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes – debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoringMust be self-motivated and driven, with strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.Knowledge of financial industry, specifically accounting / general ledger will be preferred.Salary/Rate Range: CAD $135,000 – $175,000Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
