- Positively participate in company safety program and support all safety requirements and policies
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Complete financial packages in a timely manner for monthly, quarterly, and year end cycles
- Full ownership of accounting cycle within divisional scope (GL, AR, FA, inventory, revenue recognition)
- Heavy involvement and oversight of manufacturing, construction and shop activities
- Prepare and regularly monitor annual budget commitment and semi-yearly actualization to budget cycles
- Manage day-to-day cash flow and working capital
- Monitor and control financial conditions by conducting ad hoc audits
- Support CWC HQ on external/internal audits, internal controls, and other, when required
- Comply with federal, provincial, and other legal requirements
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Uphold and foster the Colas and Terus values of Pioneering, Commitment, Respect, and Sharing.
- Lead and manage a team of direct and indirect reports, providing both strategic and operational guidance.
- Oversee training, succession planning, technical development, and cross-training across all financial roles.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations, creating an environment where team members feel valued, heard, and empowered.
- Ensure engagement and positive team culture for all direct and indirect team members.
- Deliver constructive feedback, model desired behaviours and skills, and uphold professional work ethics.
- Make informed and timely decisions, incorporating relevant input from team members.
- Partner with operations to enhance the quality of operational and financial decision making
- Other duties as assigned by Terus Vice President or CWC Vice President, Finance
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation or recent successful pass on The Common Final Examination (CFE) would be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of accepted accounting standards, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Experience within a construction or manufacturing industry would be considered an asset
- Ability to develop, manage, and audit systems and processes
- Clear and effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of organization
- Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Outlook/ Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe
- Experience in JD Edwards, OnBase, HeavyBid, HeavyJob would be considered an asset
- Adaptability to learn new software
- Ability to make timely decisions on critical issues after appropriate assessment and analysis
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficient time management skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong internal and external interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative and team-based environment
- High level of adaptability to a changing work environment
- Travel may be routinely required
- Ability to deliver and facilitate presentation
- Ability to work overtime when required by business needs
- Bachelor's Degree, with Accounting Major preferred
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation or recent successful pass on The Common Final Examination (CFE) is an advantage
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
