Install, repair, assemble and maintain plant machinery, equipment and structures
Read and interpret engineering blueprints
Work from complex blueprints, shop handbooks, layouts, and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine the materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and structures
Welds, brazes, scrapes, solders, cuts various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks
Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements
Prepare and submit maintenance reports

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic should have:

Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting various types of industrial machinery
Experience reading blueprints, diagrams and drawings
Experience and basic knowledge of computers to enter preventive maintenance activities
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Strong problem-solving skills
Good time management skills

Qualifications

High School Degree or GED
Must possess an Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433a Red Seal certificate
5 years of related work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Must be able to read, write, and communicate using English language
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis
Able to lift and manipulate heavy equipment
