The Health and Safety Advisor will play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe work environment within the construction site of an established GC. Based in Brantford, this position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of health and safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs tailored to construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Provide training sessions and workshops on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain detailed records of safety audits, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety considerations into planning and execution.
  • Stay informed about changes to health and safety legislation and update company policies accordingly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters in Brantford construction sites.

  • Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications or training in health and safety practices, such as WHMIS or COR.
  • Experience in the property industry, ideally within light industrial building construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver training and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed safety documentation.
