Location: Sunnybrook Research Institute, Toronto, ON (on-site)Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Research Assistant (RA) to support a groundbreaking research study focused on adults with functional cognitive disorder (FCD) engaging in a group psychotherapy program. The Research Assistant will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including recruiting and screening participants, administering research measures, managing the study database, and assisting with the creation of therapeutic materials. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to an innovative clinical study and work closely with individuals who have unique cognitive needs.Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Screening:
- Please note, training on conducting suicide risk assessments will be provided.
- Database Management:
- Ongoing or completed Bachelor’s degree
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with participants, both in person and remotely.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage complex administrative tasks.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable conducting sensitive assessments, including suicide risk evaluations, with appropriate supervision.
- Experience in a clinical or research setting.
- Experience working with individuals who have cognitive impairments or mental health conditions.
- Proficient in using databases and basic data management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, REDCap, Qualtrics).
- Familiarity with group psychotherapy approaches or therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge of ethical standards and best practices for research involving human subjects.
- Ongoing or completed degree in health sciences (psychology, public health, nursing, social work, etc.)
- This position may involve occasional evening or weekend work, depending on participant availability and study needs.
- Training will be provided on study-specific protocols, data collection procedures, and suicide risk assessment.
