Estate Manager, Consumer Insolvency

- Assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services
- Assist with data analysis and the review of financial records
- Assist with administering formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies and proposals
- Develop relationships with current and potential referral sources including credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, accountants, etc.
- Prepare and review all relevant BIA documentation including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders and Affidavits, Certificates of Discharge, Trustee’s Supplementary Reports to Court, Pre and Post Bankruptcy Tax Returns, Final Statements of Receipts and Disbursements, etc.
- Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to debtors; ensure debtor needs are met
- Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the debtor
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
- Direct experience in Insolvency is not required but considered an asset
- Experience as a Financial Advisor considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset
- Completion of the Insolvency Administration course and/or BIA Insolvency Counselor course an asset.
- Willingness to work towards a CIRP designation is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
