- Conduct modal, random vibration, and response spectrum analyses to evaluate system durability and performance towards compliance.
- Perform nonlinear structural analyses, including contact, large deformation, and material nonlinearities.
- Carry out impact and transient dynamic simulations for structural integrity and safety evaluation.
- Perform FRF/VTF to identify and quantify vibration transmission paths. Isolator evaluation will be critical to most battery packs.
- Conduct CHT simulations to evaluate thermal performance and cooling effectiveness.
- Analyze flow distribution and airflow performance within battery packs using Ansys fluent.
- Develop 1D system-level models to support performance prediction and system behavior analysis.
- Build, validate, and refine simulation models using test data and engineering judgment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to translate real-world operating conditions into simulation environments.
- Interpret simulation results and provide design recommendations to improve performance, durability, and reliability.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for field or test issues using simulation methods.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to engineering teams.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structural analysis with a focus on vibration (PSD's), non-linearities and fatigue using Ansys Mechanical products.
- 0-2 years of experience in CFD with a focus on CHT/ flow distributions using Ansys Fluent.
- An undergraduate degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Expert knowledge of Ansys products.
- Basic understanding of battery systems, GD&T, drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of mechanical testing evaluation i.e., shaker testing, strain gauges, OMS, TPA and FRF's.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
