- Perform physical analytical sampling and testing of raw ingredients, packaging materials and finished goods beverage products in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform microbiological/bacteriological sampling and testing of products in accordance with established guidelines. Ability to apply and interpret results and adjusting blending equipment to target specifications
- Responsibilities include maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting all laboratory equipment.
- Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification analytical test results. Follow established notification protocol.
- Routinely collect product samples from production lines and exceptional organizational skills in order to maintain all QC records and filing.
- Accurately and neatly complete analytical testing documents and calibrate all lab testing equipment.
- Perform sanitation task. Report any deviations.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Must be proficient with all quality control functions throughout the facility.
- Must be able to complete, pass and maintain required training.
- Comply with all Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP’s).
- Also responsible for preparing and mixing syrups for production as required with an emphasis on Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Other responsibilities include receiving inventory of concentration and sweetener, cleaning and sanitizing equipment including filling equipment, carbo-coolers, tanks and piping.
- Able to work on the water treatment system, including back-washing sand/gravel filters, ion regeneration, carbon streaming and monitor water quality.
- Frequently lifting/carrying a maximum of 80 lbs.
- Occasionally pushing/pulling/lifting a maximum of 400 lbs. (with the aid of a mechanical device)
- Frequent bending and reaching above the shoulder
- High school diploma or equivalent. A post-secondary education is preferred.
- Basic computer skills. Some data entry may be required.
- Strong mathematical skills, must pass assessment
- Must pass assessments
- Cost exposure to the company is greater than $1,000.
- Must be able to read and write English as there is a strong possibility of injury to self or others due to nature of work
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of one year previous exposure to QC Lab equipment and water treatment systems is preferred
- Ability to work shift work (evenings/afternoons/weekends)
- Problem-solving skills along with the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments as necessary
- Team player who shows initiative, reliability, and flexibility
