- Marketing: Build Sense Engineering's brand through exceptional partner engagement. Represent Sense professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.
- Knowledge Development: Enhance your technical expertise and stay current on industry trends and best practices
- Design and analyze structures for new construction, renovation and restoration and rehabilitation projects.
- Evaluate existing buildings, leveraging knowledge of diverse materials and structural systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets effectively for successful project delivery.
- Conduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.
- Prepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.
- Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
- Support mentoring of junior engineers and knowledge sharing within Sense
- Occasional travel within Canada required, with the majority of projects to be within Alberta
- Other duties as assigned/required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings
- Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials
- Registered or actively pursuing registration with the Association of Profession Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit
- Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset
- Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment

- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required
