The salary range for this position is CAD $45.48/Hr. - CAD $65.38/Hr.Job SummaryCome work as an Advisor, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!Reporting to the Manager, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Anti-Racism (AR), the Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Vancouver Coastal Health’s EDI, Accessibility, and AR priority actions to deliver on our organizational commitment for a diverse workforce reflective of the communities we serve, and sustaining a workplace culture that is anti-racist, accessible, and inclusive.As a change agent, the Advisor plays the roles of a catalyst, advisor, collaborator and educator, working with all VCH departments, services and programs to develop partnerships, build organizational capacity and cultural competency in support of systemic change. The Advisor will bring demonstrated experience in program creation, implementation and evaluation in areas including accessibility, anti-racism, decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion.Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism are core pillars in VCH’s commitment which also include Indigenous Cultural Safety and Planetary Health. EDI and Anti-Racism strategies reflect our shared values and key behaviours – We Care for Everyone, We are Always Learning and We Strive for Better ResultsAs an Advisor, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:Implement the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism priority actions by collaborating, influencing, and building trust with teams, partners and leaders enabling transformation of our systems, culture, and services to better meet the needs of diverse patient communities and employees.Consult, design, deliver, and facilitate virtual and in person education for internal teams on topics such as accessibility, allyship, anti-racism, equity, dimensions of diversity, inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, microaggressions. Support organizational learning and unlearning by leveraging conflict-sensitive and trauma-informed facilitation skills.Provide advisory and consultation support to leaders, develop their coaching and leadership capacity on equity to advance an inclusive team culture.Consult with program teams to improve equity within policy and program development and implementation.Prepare reports and presentations by gathering, analyzing and summarizing information from partners, databases and research, and make recommendations on program improvements.Design, develop and communicate workplace engagement and equity survey, conduct an intersectional analysis to evaluate our progress in increasing engagement, equity, inclusion, and safety for all staff and medical staff.Facilitate external and internal engagement to advance accessible, culturally responsive, and inclusive care for the diverse patient population, supporting health-care teams with communication material and services.Build strong external relationships and partnerships, with targeted outreach to under-represented equity groups for recruitment effort.Support Human Resources and Labour Relations colleagues to investigate, provide guidance to leaders, staff and teams on equity, racism, and discrimination related matters.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Health Administration, Political Science, and Law supplemented with five (5) to seven (7) years of experience leading accessibility, equity or anti-racism efforts in public or private sectors, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group is considered a strong asset, particularly experience in navigating public systems.Knowledge & AbilitiesDemonstrated understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion work with deeper knowledge in applying the principles of accessibility, anti-racism, decolonization, or trans inclusion to policy, programs and organizational change.Experience reviewing and developing policies with an accessibility, equity and anti-racism lens, providing data-driven recommendations and lived experience.Demonstrated experience working with racialized, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+ and other equity deserving communities in a culturally responsive and trauma informed manner, building trust and collaborative partnerships.Skilled in building and sustaining relationships grounded in trust, mutual respect and cultural humility.Demonstrated ability to consult and facilitate for internal teams in a conflict-sensitive and trauma-informed manner.Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and accessible reports and brief on sensitive and complex topics.Experienced in problem solving and addressing team conflict in a restorative manner.Strong understanding of change management theory and experience supporting leadership and teams in cultural transformation efforts and skilled at navigating resistance to equity.Applies systems thinking in strategic planning involving cultural shifts and large-scale change initiatives.Strong project management skills to develop, implement and evaluate impact of change initiatives. Demonstrated experience to prioritize and plan for program design and delivery.Demonstrated analytical skills in program evaluation and data analysis applying an intersectional lens to experience and engagement feedback.Applies superior judgment and organizational savvy to communicate sensitive informationSound knowledge of federal and provincial human rights and employment legislation including the Accessible BC Act, Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Call to Action, UNDRIP, and In Plain Sight reports.Experience supporting decolonizing practices and building relationship with Indigenous communities is an asset.Experience implementing accessibility requirements in a complex, public sector organization is an assetVCH supports equitable practices, diverse teams and inclusive environments, which are integral to creating welcoming spaces where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and feel supported.
