- Purchasing scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while maximizing profit margins;
- Visiting dealers and industrial suppliers, by phone or in person, to promote new and repeat business, offer pricing, provide customer service, answer questions, handle complaints, and build relationships;
- Developing reliable contact networks that will allow up-to-date information regarding buy/sell prices and local and regional market trends;
- Negotiating new contracts with clients;
- Using knowledge of triage operations and processing to make decisions to optimize pricing;
- Coordinating with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchase transactions;
- Coaching the team;
- Performing all other related tasks.
- You have a college Diploma in Commerce, sales or marketing (or any other equivalent training or experience);
- You have 3 years or more of experience (recycling industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metals considered an asset);
- You have a valid Class 5 driver's license;
- You have superior customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
- You have excellent math, problem-solving and negotiation skills;
- You have some knowledge of metal alloy identification (an asset);
- You have good knowledge of the Microsoft suite;
- You have the ability to travel throughout the territory;
- You have good knowledge of the different CRMs (an asset);
- You are bilingual (French/English);
- You have excellent communication skills;
- You have the ability to work in a team;
- You have strong results analysis skills;
- You have the ability to set and manage priorities in a high-pressure work environment.
