The Labourer is responsible for performing general construction activities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform various general construction activities such as:
- Set up and install trench boxes.
- Erect and take down skid piles.
- Erect fencing (t-posts and snow fencing).
- Assist with stringing activities.
- Assist with lowering in activities.
- Manual material handling.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Clean and prepare sites.
- Unload and set up traffic controls and safety equipment.
- Perform spotting for various types of equipment as well as overhead powerlines.
- Various safety tickets/certificates as required depending on project.
- Previous work experience in the pipeline construction industry would be an asset.
- Previous work experience in the pipeline construction industry would be an asset.
- Knowledge of pipeline construction industry is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
- Knowledge of handling hazardous materials and industry waste.
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination.
- Physically able to lift and handle heavy objects.
- Manual dexterity.
This position is field based and often works within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations is required. Must be able to work a 6 days on 1 day off schedule with 12 hour shifts for the duration of the project.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Labourer reports to the crew Foreperson. The position has no supervisory duties.EXPECTED COMPENSATION RANGE
